Light a Diya Online — Virtual Deepotsav Mandap & Family Blessings
In Indian tradition, lighting an earthen clay lamp (mitti ka diya) filled with pure ghee or sesame oil is far more than a festive decoration—it is a sacred prayer declared in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: “Tamaso Maa Jyotirgamaya” (Lead us from darkness into the eternal light of wisdom, compassion, and peace). Today, when millions of students, engineers, armed forces personnel, and families live miles apart across cities and continents, our Light a Diya Online experience inside Diwali Mela Online brings everyone together around a shared 3D Deepotsav Mandap right in your browser.
Meaning of the 7 Sacred Earthen Diyas at the Mandap
At the center of our virtual fairground stands the circular red-sandstone and golden-domed 7 Diyas Deepotsav Mandap. Surrounding its central lotus rangoli are seven handcrafted terracotta lamps. When you walk up to the Mandap and click or tap each lamp, its cotton wick ignites with a warm, flickering 3D point light and golden spark particles. Each of the seven diyas symbolizes a timeless pillar of a blessed household:
1. Diya of Arogya (Good Health)
Invoking the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari for physical strength, healing, and lifelong wellbeing for parents and elders.
2. Diya of Vidya & Vivek (Wisdom)
Dedicated to Goddess Saraswati and Lord Ganesha, dispelling confusion and illuminating clear thought and learning.
3. Diya of Samriddhi (Prosperity)
Welcoming Maa Lakshmi into your home and workplace with honest effort, abundance, and financial stability.
4. Diya of Shanti (Inner Peace)
Calming anxiety and bringing harmony, patience, and gentle understanding to every family conversation.
5. Diya of Karuna & Seva (Kindness)
Remembering that true Deepavali shines brightest when we share food, sweets, and warmth with those in need.
6. Diya of Prem & Ekta (Unity)
Bridging physical distance between siblings, childhood friends, and relatives celebrating from afar.
7. Diya of Kritagyata (Gratitude)
Offering heartfelt thanks for every small joy, memory, and blessing received over the past year.
